It’s really hard not to compare your own children with their sibling(s) . . . our first was so articulate so young that I found (ok, find!) myself sometimes concerned about my son’s speech – he’s 3 1/2 and is lazy with the end consonants on words and has difficulty with a few sounds still . . . but after talking with other moms it seems fairly common and typical, but it just felt more alarming when compared to “sissy” who didn’t have the same problem. So I can relate but it sounds like you are doing such a great job and it’s so discerning of you to recognize your children’s individual talents, needs, and learning styles!

  2. Wow, what a great idea! My 4 yr old had no problem tracing those dotted letters, but he does have letters ‘creep’ outside the lines =) I just might try this for him, and I’ll definitely remember it for my 2 yr old if she has trouble in the future!
